New Blog at http://himmysoulloves.blogspot.com/

I'm trading in my Xanga for a Blog.  The new address is http://himmysoulloves.blogspot.com/.  I will probably run them side by side for a time until all my loyal readership gets switched over.  It could take awhile. LOL

Turning 3!!

Are these little cuties or what?  Savannah turned 3.  I can't believe it!  She had a lot of fun at her birthday party and asked me if we could have it again today.  We saw a whole new side to Loralei as she prissed around with beads and sun glasses.  I just love these girls.

Can I just brag on the Lord's goodness for a moment with a testimony??  A few weeks ago a lady told me about a skin care line that she sells.  I was interested but didn't want to spend the money on it, we are saving for Juarez and other missions and family projects.  At the time, I didn't think much of it.  I wasn't aching to buy the products or feeling like I was making such a grand sacrifice.  On the contrary, it seemed like a small price to pay for the better things the Lord has for us.  I had forgotten about it until this past Sunday when a woman who is an acquaintance of mine told me about the same line of products.  I told her I would have to try a sample.  She said " I have a sample in the car."  She came back from the car with $266.00 worth of full sized products FREE FREE FREE!!  I was so blown away when the Lord reminded me that it was the very thing I had been looking at just a few weeks before.   Now, you would think in light of such a generous, extravagant and lavish gift from my precious Lord, that my faith would be so strengthened that I would never doubt Him again... Well as I'm driving away from church the thought hit me - "If I like these products there is no way that I can afford to ever buy them again."  As this is going through my mind I come to my senses and think "What a stupid thought to have in light of such miraculous provision - I'm like an Israelite."  So, I release this testimony to you today and say you can't out give God.  You can't out-sacrifice God.  He is the extravagant Lover and anything we "sacrifice" is just pebbles compared to the diamonds He gives in returns.  LOL

OK, so once in awhile I get the bug to go into Walgreen's or Target and pick up some new products to try.  It's a bit of a sickness really.  The other night I purchased 4 new products ( a record I'm not proud of) and I would like to review them for you now...

Maybelline Lash Stylist Mascara

This is the mascara that they have been advertising for awhile now on TV.  The application wand is actually a double comb instead of the traditional spiral.  I have to tell you I'm IN LOVE with this product.  It is everything it is advertised to be and more.  Reasonably priced, the mascara goes on so smoothly, it lifts and separates eye lashes.  The comb is just incredible, it is so much easier and less messy than traditional wands AND so far I haven't noticed any smudging or flaking.  I give this product an  A++.  The only downside is the beautiful body of the model does not come with it.

Sally Hansen Fast & Flawless Anti-Aging Airbrush Makeup

What a waste of $7!!  I had a feeling this product was going to be a bust.  First of all, it's called air brush because it's in an aerosol spray, so the idea is that it's simple to apply, you just mist it on.  Well, when you read the fine print it says "spray on your hand and then apply to your face".  So at this point I'm back to my regular liquid foundation.  So, I thought to myself, I'll use it on my legs - I am still pale and pasty since it's the beginning of summer.  It went on unevenly and was too orange and then it wasn't as powder dry as one might hope.  All in all, I'm probably going to toss it in the garbage.  I give this product an F.

Kiss 3-D Sticker Art

These are the flexible stickers that you add to your fingernails or toe nails.  I bought the cute, white daisies to match my French manicure.  They are pretty, dainty and add a nice touch without trying to steal the show.  They have good sticking power.  The only thing I don't like is that they try to roll up a bit when you pull them off the page.  All in all I like them.  I give this product an A.

Sally Hansen's Fast and Flawless Anti-Aging Skin Brightener with Retinol

Claims to instantly brighten and moisturize and firm the appearance of skin.  I wasn't sure what I was getting into with this product.  I was hoping it was a tinted moisturizer and I think that is basically what it is supposed to be.  I am always on the lookout for something that will moisturize and add a bit of color without having to all out put foundation on my skin.  This product is just ok.  It's seems to be oil-based so I would think it would be a nightmare for oily skin.  My skin is very dry so that part doesn't bother me.  It comes out of the pump very separated and I'm still not sure if that is the way it's supposed to be or if I need to shake much more vigorously - perhaps put it in the blender to get it good and mixed.  The "glow" part is kind of fun.  It does add a bit of a glow, probably due to the oil.  It says you can wear it with or without makeup - not sure if they are referring to foundation here.  I tried it yesterday with my foundation and it was a total bust!!  This product is having a hard time deciding what it wants to be when it grows up.  The advertising and lack of instructions are confusing.  So I am going to use this around the house or to the pool since it seems to be a good moisturizer.  It will never replace my foundation and I probably won't purchase it again.  All in all, I give this product a C.

Kiss Fashion Toenail Accent Kits - Bonus Review!!

I've actually been using this product for 4 months now and I LOVE it.  I read about these fake, glue on toe nails last year in my cousins fashion magazine.  I thought, SURELY NOT!!  How can glue on, fake toenails ever hold up.  I was wrong.  I went and purchased them at Walgreen's out of sheer desperation for a cheaper, less time consuming pedicure solution.  I couldn't afford pedicures and it took me so long to do my own that I had given up.  These cost me $5-$6 and lasted over a month.  I bought the French style.  They have two shades of white and pink and other colors as well.  Inside the package there are 24 nails so you get a variety of sizes.  I found a size perfect for me and didn't have to file them down or anything.  They come with handy application tabs and glue and an orange stick - it's all you need.  They are easy to apply and I've been extremely impressed with the results.  This is one of those products that I wish I had invented.  I LOVE them.  If you aren't a french manicure person, you might be dissappointed with the color choices.  I still can't help but give this product an A++.

I hope you have found these reviews to be informative and helpful.  If you have a product you would like to recommend, I'd love to know about it.

Love to you all,

April

Too Long

It's been too long since I posted.  Right now it's so late I don't have anything juicy to say.  Been hanging in there, a little tired, a little burnt out because of so many activities.  It's time for a break.  My dear husband has declared a ban on all evening activities for the month of May.  We are having family time.  Oh, one funny thing happened the other day.  I woke up and went into the living room and there sits Savannah on the sofa in her night gown with her head resting on the arm rest and her little legs stretched out, crossed at the ankles.  I was shocked to see her since she sleeps in a baby bed and has never crawled out before.  I said "What are you doing on the couch" she said she was tired of being in bed.  I guess we are going to have to buy her a toddler bed for her birthday this month.  They grow up so fast.
